Just a few short moments in a new Sony video shows the upcoming Xperia 5 V with a fingerprint reader on the side, smaller dimensions and only two cameras on the back. However, this video is not since the phone was shown, it serves only as a 20-second teaser for the official presentation, which will take place next week on September 1.
Today, a 20-second video is enticing Sony fans to the introduction of this year’s small flagship in the form of the Xperia 5 V. It will all take place on YouTube next Friday, September 1st, and in the published clip we already get a few glimpses of the phone. We can see the light variant that leaked earlier, the fingerprint reader is still on the side and the smaller dimensions of previous generations remain.
However, we already know exactly what the phone looks like from the previous leaked video, so Sony didn’t need to keep such secrets. We already know that the design will be modified similarly to the Xperia 1 V compared to the 1 IV, but the smaller sister will unfortunately only get two cameras this year. So far, everyone is assuming that we will lose the telephoto lens, which would make the most sense. As is the case with basic iPhones or Pixels. For example, Samsung and Xiaomi already have all three cameras on their cheaper flagships, as Sony also had until now. It was always one of the main advantages of the Xperia 5.
We can only hope that if there is one less camera, we can only hope that at least the main sensor will be the improved 53 Mpx sensor from the Xperia 1 V and the price of the device will be reduced. Properly, this piece of equipment should be more of a competitor for the Zenfone 10, which will also correspond to a shorter support. Alternatively, the competition is the Pixel 8. However, Sony will definitely not drop to such a low price. In any case, this year the Xperia 5 V will undergo a minor change in category and possibly audience. We’ll see how this piece fares against previous models.
