Big question marks still hover over the PS5 design, which is why fans are currently flooding the internet with mock-ups and design concepts. Currently, the assumption that the case of the PlayStation 5 could turn out to be V-shaped is very persistent, at least that’s what the console’s dev kit looks like. Now an alleged PS5 icon has appeared that seems to confirm the V shape of the case.
But be careful here: We are sure that the icon is a fake.

Where does the alleged icon come from? The PS5 symbol, which you can see in the image below, is said to have briefly appeared on the Japanese PlayStation website and was later deleted. On reddit it is still visible.
Some players believe that Sony accidentally posted the icon on the website. If we believe the symbol, the PS5 case retains the V-shape of the devkit, but something is wrong here.
The picture looks like a fake: We assume that only someone was working with Photoshop here. If Sony really released the PS5 icon by mistake, there would be more pictures than just one in circulation, simply because more people would have discovered it. This is not just any page, but the official PlayStation website.
There is only one photo of the alleged icon, namely what is currently on Reddit. And speaking of photo: The fact that the creator didn’t just take a screenshot of the website also speaks for a fake. Why do you create an obliquely photographed picture?
