Song Contest winner denies drug use: ‘cleared up a glass’

The singer, Damiano David, is voluntarily tested for drug use when he returns home to Italy. That writes European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which organizes the Eurovision Song Contest.

According to the organization, the test was already requested by him last night, but the organization could not immediately organize it. Coke can still be seen in a urine test after eight days.

Clean up glass

It was only seen for a very short time in the broadcast, but the images already went quickly around on social media. The clip suggests that he was sniffing cocaine in the green room while the cameras were pointed at him.

The winning singer has told the organization that he was diving down because a glass was broken at their table. He wanted to clear that up.

Organization

The EBU claims to be able to confirm that broken glass has been found after an on-the-spot check. “We are still looking at the images carefully and will come up with more information in due course,” the organization writes.

The band wrote last night in a response to Instagram that they were ‘shocked’ by the suggestion. “We are against drugs and have never used cocaine.”
