Four of the defendants in the case of local election fraud in the commune of Ciorani in Prahova have concluded agreements to acknowledge the facts with prosecutors, judicial sources told Agerpres.
According to them, the agreements will be sent, next week, in court, to the Buzau Court.
Previously, the prosecutors investigating the case requested and obtained in court that, at the time of sending to court, this case should not reach the Mizil Court, the competent court to judge the case.
Judicial sources said that the prosecutors’ request was made in the conditions in which the Mizil Court could not be impartial in judging this case, because from the archives of this court were stolen ballot papers from the elections in Ciorani.
The mayor of the Ciorani commune in Prahova, Marin Voicu, and another defendant in the September 2020 local election fraud case are in pre-trial detention in this case, and another 15 defendants are under house arrest.
The prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ploieşti Court of Appeal, together with the police workers from the Police Inspectorate of Prahova County – Criminal Investigation Service, carried out, in June, 18 home searches in a case in which investigations are being carried out. the crime of falsifying electoral documents and records.
“On the occasion of the local elections of September 27, the members of the polling stations in Ciorani commune falsified the minutes of recording the voting results for the election of the mayor, the Local Council, the County Council and the president of the County Council, inserting in these documents data inconsistent with reality. In fact, the number of votes obtained by some candidates / political parties was diminished to the detriment of other candidates / political parties “, the Prosecutor’s Office specified.
The defendants in the electoral fraud case from Ciorani commune “have absolutely no criminal record”, are “natural” and laugh about their own way of fraudulent elections, “stealing” the voters’ votes “without any resentment”, the Prahova Court’s motivation states. , which ordered the preventive arrest of the defendants in June.
According to the document, they are natural “because they do not care about the values of a democratic society.”
