Like every third Tuesday of the month, the volunteers of the columérin group of SNC (Solidarités Nouvelles face au Chômage) met at the Slow cooker. The opportunity to take stock of the support in progress, to create pairs for two new requests and to plan future actions in the field. And also to get together and talk over a cold drink and share some food brought by everyone. To date, the Colomiers group has 17 volunteers supporting 26 people. Among the volunteers, there are retirees, working people, from human resources or from any other background, which constitutes their complementarity and their wealth. The people accompanied all have different profiles as well, “which always makes it an extraordinary human adventure”, testifies Dominique Boisson, the group manager.
Complementary to the actions of public services
As a reminder, the members of this association provide concrete support to job seekers by listening to them without judgment and helping them to regain confidence and to define or redefine a professional project. Listening and restoring confidence have been the keys to support according to SNC for more than 35 years and whose motto is: “Looking for a job? Don’t stay alone”. The process is free and not limited in time. The meetings, planned at the request of the person concerned according to their needs, always take place in threes: a pair of accompanying persons and the person accompanied.
