Society. Students: new intergenerational housing in Lyon

From January 4, the Crous will offer around 40 new housing units to Lyon students in the Georges-Rinck intergenerational residence, near Perrache.

Since 2004, a partnership has been set up between the CCAS (municipal social action centers) of Lyon and Villeurbanne, and the Crous of Lyon to develop this type of housing.

The goal is to break the isolation of the elderly, but also students and create social ties.

“The students living in this residence undertake to do 4 hours of volunteering per month by leading workshops of their choice or by accompanying the residents on their outings” specifies the CROUS.

The rent is 384.50 euros including charges (water, electricity, heating and internet) for furnished accommodation of 16 to 18 m². Scholarship students have priority.

> To join the Georges-Rinck residence, students must send their CV and cover letter to [email protected].
