Soccer – Leipzig and Munich play sports at the end of the first round

Frankfurt / Main (dpa) – Defending champions RB Leipzig and the German champions FC Bayern Munich only intervene at the end of the first round of the DFB Cup.

As can be seen from the exact schedule of the 32 games published by the German Football Association, the Saxons will play on August 30 (8:45 p.m. / ZDF and Sky) at Hamburg regional league club FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen. In the last first-round encounter, FC Bayern will make a guest appearance at third division club FC Viktoria Köln a day later (8.45 p.m. / ARD and Sky). The reason for the one month later appointment is that RB Leipzig will play against Munich for the Supercup on July 30th.

Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt has to play at second division promoted 1. FC Magdeburg on August 1st (8.45 p.m. / ARD and Sky). The 2018 DFB Cup winner from Main failed in the first round at Waldhof Mannheim last season. The defeated cup finalist SC Freiburg will start the new competition with a Sunday game on July 31 (3:30 p.m.) at second division promoted team 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

On the first Friday of the cup, July 29 (8:45 p.m./ZDF and Sky), runners-up Borussia Dortmund is fighting at TSV 1860 Munich to advance to the second round.
