Soccer – Freiburg im Breisgau – Setback for Osnabrück: 1:4 defeat at Freiburg II – Sport

Freiburg (dpa / lni) – VfL Osnabrück is running out of breath in the final spurt of the third division. The Lower Saxony lost 1: 4 (1: 1) to the reserves of SC Freiburg on Saturday and thus conceded the second defeat in a row. As a result, the purple and white threaten to miss fourth place in the table, which would entitle them to participate in the DFB Cup next season.

After Vincent Vermeij had given the hosts the lead in front of 1400 spectators in the seventh minute, Sebastian Klaas managed to equalize for the guests with a converted penalty shortly before the break (45th). After the change of sides, however, VfL made too many mistakes and deservedly lost after goals from Hugo Siquet (54th), again Vermeij (59th) and Nishan Burkart (89th).
