Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – Goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow is impressed by the future planning of his new club Hertha BSC, but is reluctant to set goals for the upcoming Bundesliga season. “I found the project here incredibly exciting. Something is happening here,” the 28-year-old justified his move from league rivals SC Freiburg to Berlin in an interview with the “Badische Zeitung” (Monday). But he also said: “We know about the turbulent times that are behind us. Ultimately, we want to convince people with attractive football and a clear philosophy. But we hold back with big goals.”
Whether or not Hertha will be athletically successful is “in the stars,” said Schwolow: “But the conditions are good. It is well known that an investor is behind. Knowing that a lot is possible in this regard also influences you. It But continuity has to be found. Last season Hertha had four coaches. Of course, that is not ideal. “
He “really appreciated” the time at his former club in Freiburg and he will “never forget”, said Schwolow. For him, however, it was also about “breaking out of the comfort zone in Freiburg. When you’ve been in the same club for so long, you get the feeling that you just want to do something different.” Schwolow also spoke to FC Schalke 04 about a possible transfer this summer.
