Reason: the wind blew into the cellphone loudspeaker, a dog barked loudly or you covered the microphone with your finger. Yes, it works! Whatsapp would like to introduce an obvious feature in the future, with which one can check voice messages before sending, but until then it is also possible differently. The trick works equally well with Android smartphones as it does with iPhones that use the iOS system. And this is how it works:

First the recording of a voice message must be started by tapping the green microphone button. The button must not be released, but must be pulled up in the direction of the lock symbol. So you can record a voice message without having to keep your finger on the screen. When the voice message is ready, you can either tap on the name of the chat partner or close Whatsapp. If you then switch back to the chat or open WhatsApp again, the memo is displayed at the bottom of the screen. You can then decide whether you want to listen to them using the play button or delete them by tapping the trash can.
