Snoop Dogg, Celebrity | Snoop Dogg talks about Norway – and not just positively

The rapper reacts to Norway’s strict drug laws.

The rapper Snoop Dogg (50) is a guest on the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience”, where he devotes a full hour into the episode two full minutes to talk about his experiences with Norway.

It is in conversation about how the drug laws in different countries are that Joe Rogan (54) and the rapper get into the topic.

In 2012, the 50-year-old was denied entry to Norway for two years after being taken by customs officers with eight grams of marijuana on him when he arrived at Kjevik airport in Kristiansand in connection with a concert at the Hovefestivalen on Tromøya outside Arendal.

– In a country you can not even smell weed. You can not even have it in your system, says Snoop Dogg in the podcast.

– Really, which country? asks Joe Rogan, and gets Norway to answer.

– There is zero tolerance, says the world-famous rapper.

– I had to pee in a cup

Furthermore, Snoop Dogg talks about his own experiences with the Norwegian police, which have been more than once.

The first time is said to have been before a concert, where his tour bus was stopped and two police officers came on board. They are then said to have taken the rapper down to the police station and demanded a drug test with a blood test or urine test.

– “Either you give us blood, or you have to pee in a cup. We have to see if you have any drugs in the system “, they are said to have said.

The 50-year-old peed in a cup, and then completed the concert.

Six months later, Snoop Dogg returned to Norway for a new concert, and at that time he is said to have been arrested as soon as he arrived in the country. Again, he was taken to the police station, as the test from six months earlier had given results. Then he had to take a urine sample again.

– I had to pee in a cup again, so they asked me for a picture before they let me go. Imagine how shocked I was. I had to smoke one after that, says the rapper in the podcast.

Juicy fines

Snoop Dogg does not mention in the podcast which visits to Norway are in question, but it is reasonable to believe that the story has a connection with his Hove appearance in 2012.

When the rapper landed on Norwegian soil before the festival, the first thing that met him was a drug dog. The dog smelled something, and the customs officers found eight grams of marijuana on him. In addition, the customs found currency worth 227,000 kroner in the rapper’s luggage. And it would cost him dearly.

For the drug seizure, he was fined 12,000 kroner, and the cash cost him 40,000 kroner. The 50-year-old decided on the fines on the spot, and stood on the stage under Hove the next day.

The following month, however, the news came that he had been banned from Norway for two years.

In September next year, the rapper will have his first concert in Norway since 2014.
