If you look at social networks from today’s perspective, Snapchat is now halfway to the old iron of the industry. The service, which hasn’t been in the public eye by far since the rise of Instagram and TikTok, has long reviled the Windows platform and refused to have its own Windows Phone app. Now the actual service comes to the platform rather begrudgingly.

Background is a new progressive web app that has been brought to Microsoft. We certainly don’t need to waste any more words on what that means. Essentially, just like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, it’s the web version of Snapchat that runs in its own container thanks to Microsoft Edge-powered WebView2. You have to see how useful it is in the end.

Find the link to the app below the post.
