Snapchat lets users share tweets – IT Pro – News

Snapchat has built in a function to use tweets as stickers within Stories. Until now, users mainly shared tweets as screenshot, but that is no longer necessary, according to parent company Snap.

The advantage over sharing a screenshot, according to Snap, is that it takes less effort because taking a screenshot is no longer necessary and that other users can click on the tweet to open it immediately in Twitter. According to the company, it is the first time that tweets have been integrated into Snapchat Stories.

Using tweets in Stories starts by pressing the Share button in Twitter and then selecting Snapchat. The tweet will immediately appear as a sticker in the camera interface, after which the Lens Carousel can be opened with a click of a button. Users can then share or post the snap in their Stories.

When other users see the snap with the tweet in it, they can swipe up to view the tweet. Replies to that tweet will then also become visible. The integration works immediately, Snap says. Snapchat and Twitter are two of the social media competitors of Facebook, the market leader with Facebook and Instagram controlling two of the largest social media in the world. The US FTC ruled this week that Facebook’s social media monopoly is illegal and Facebook must therefore reject Instagram and WhatsApp, according to the FTC.
