Huawei is rolling out security updates for some of its most popular Android smartphones: we’re talking about the latest arrivals Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro e Huawei P40 Pro+, as well as of Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Mate 10 e Huawei Mate 10 Pro, which are being updated right now.
New update Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro +
Let’s start with the three top of the range 2020 from the manufacturer: Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro e Huawei P40 Pro+ are receiving a new software update in Europe, which complements the security patch of August 2020. The latter solve some problems, including 2 critical vulnerabilities and 21 high-level vulnerabilities.
The update comes with the EMUI 10.1.0.154 and requires a download of 283 MB, but no other important news seems to be included: in case you can report them to us in the usual box at the bottom.
New update Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro
Also Huawei P20 e Huawei P20 Pro are receiving an update in these hours, at least those who have already received the EMUI 10 (in Italy it arrived in June). In fact, the update with the security patches of July 2020 is being distributed, which include the solution to 5 critical vulnerabilities and 9 high-level. The changelog does not report any other news.
In this case the firmware being distributed is the 10.0.0.175/176 and is in rollout from China. Before being able to see it on Italian smartphones it could take a few days.
New update Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro
We close today’s updates at Huawei with the July 2020 security patches coming up Huawei Mate 10 e Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Also in this case they are being distributed for those who have already received the EMUI 10 (in Italy it has been in rollout for a few weeks) and bring the solution to 5 critical and 9 high-level vulnerabilities.
The firmware for the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro is the 10.0.0.175 and is starting from China. It will presumably arrive in Europe within a few days.
How to update Huawei P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro +, P20, P20 Pro, Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro
You can update Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro +, Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro from the system settings, by going to “Settings> System> Software Update“. The updates described above may not have reached Europe yet and more specifically your smartphones: in case you just have to wait a few days and try again.
