SMEs say new government measures “are to shout to the sky” – Jornal Económico

The Portuguese Confederation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CPPME) considered today that the recent measures announced by the Government to combat the impact of the covid-19 pandemic “are to cry out to the skies”.

“The latest measures announced by the Government for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises are to shout to the skies”, affirms in a statement to CPPME, adding that “the permission for night bars and clubs to be able to open from 08:00 to 20:00 , in pastry service, it can only be a bad joke ”.

In turn, for the confederation, “the three new modalities of ‘lay-off’, not only further complicate what was the simplified ‘lay-off’, but also appear to be designed so that only very few companies can have access , with inevitable reductions in purchasing power and a sharp fall in the domestic market ”.

CPPME also regrets the “delay” of the Government “in putting into practice the compensatory measure for managing partners with a contributory career for Social Security, approved in the Supplementary Budget”, which in turn considers it “a measure of justice”, but “repeatedly postponed”.

In addition, the Government “insists on not creating a treasury fund for Micro and Small Enterprises (agile, fast, efficient and without excessive bureaucracy), with zero interest and extended grace period”, underlines the confederation.

“The repeated announcement of one billion euros for micro and small businesses, which the bank continues to manage in its own way, does not answer the real problem” of these companies, CPPME also defends.

The confederation states that, after a concentration on July 22 with other business structures, next to the steps of the Assembly of the Republic, in Lisbon, it delivered a set of proposals to the President of the Assembly of the Republic, to parliamentary groups, to the Prime Minister and to the Minister of Economy, who considers it “fair” and believes that “sooner or later” the Government will have to pay attention to them.
