Washington: Many advanced devices have been introduced to detect fever, but recently scientists have developed a smart earring that is better than other devices in performing other functions including body temperature.
According to media reports, researchers at the University of Washington have introduced thermal earings, which are the first smart earring of its kind that enables humans to continuously monitor temperature.
A recent study with 6 participants demonstrated that a smart earring was more effective than a smartwatch at sensing skin temperature.
Additionally, this smart earring can monitor stress, food, exercise and menstrual symptoms. This earring is the same size as normal earrings and weighs about the same as a small paperclip.
Talking about its battery life, it is also amazing i.e. the battery can stay active for up to 28 days. It has two sensors installed to measure temperature, one attached to the ear using a magnetic clip while the other hangs about an inch below the ear to measure room temperature.
