Two small planes collide in Swabia on a clear sky. One of the planes can land – the other crashes.
A 52-year-old was killed in the collision of two small planes in Swabia. A police spokesman for the German press agency said on Friday evening that it was the pilot of one of the two small planes who crashed in the airspace over the Neu-Ulm district after the collision.
The other plane was able to land. Its occupants were reportedly asked about the accident in the evening. According to initial findings, it is a 52-year-old and a 73-year-old. It is still unclear who of the two has controlled the small plane. According to the spokesman, both were “outwardly unharmed”. It is also still unclear whether and to what extent the second small aircraft was damaged in the collision.
“It was bright sunshine”
The accident occurred on Friday near Emershofen, a part of the municipality of Weißenhorn in the Bavarian district of Neu-Ulm. Why the planes crashed there had not yet been determined that evening. The sky was clear, the view was actually free, said another spokesman. “It was bright sunshine”.
Even at night, criminal police officers should investigate the scene of the accident. According to the police spokesman, an expert from the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) was also expected. It has not yet been decided whether the plane that has crashed will be recovered at night or during the day on Saturday. (best / dpa)
