The hockey players of Slovan Bratislava showed an excellent performance in the first two thirds of Friday’s duel of the 41st round of the Tipos extraliga against Humenný. “Belasí” won three times in both parts. The hat trick of the American forward Liam Pecarar resonated the most in the triumph of the home team (7:2).

news-item-description">The hockey players of HC Slovan Bratislava triumphed in Friday’s match of the 41st round of the Tipos extraliga over HC 19 Humenné by a high score of 7:2. “Belasí” defeated the newcomer of the competition in the fourth meeting of the season and reached seventh place HKM Zvolen by a point difference.

“A good match for us, especially in the first two periods, we scored some nice goals. We dominated in certain phases of the match, the third part was not to our liking, we had less pressure on the goal. In my opinion, the victory is deserved and thanks to the players for good job,” said Andrej Kmeč, Slovan’s assistant coach, at the post-match press conference.

The team from Humen sent only eight attempts at the home team’s goal in 40 minutes. The newcomer of the competition overcame the threat of 0:7, when Jakub Linet and Filip Vaško improved the result of the meeting cosmetically with two goals.

“Of course, we cannot be satisfied. There are things that we can teach the players, but there are things that everyone must have in themselves. Our club cannot match the size of Slovan and other clubs. Finances, facilities, quality of players, but what can we be better at? , is fighting and trying to win. Unfortunately, we didn’t show that in this match, that’s why the result is what it is. I’m very sad and disappointed because I know what we’re playing for and we can’t afford to waste another game like this.” said Humenné’s coach Martin Štrba.

In the course of the season, the Slavs produced 213 minor penalties, which is the third highest number among all teams in the competition. The Kmeč-Oremus coaching duo has also been working on improving discipline since their arrival. “It’s the basis of success, even if there were two offensive fouls in the first period. But it’s definitely better, 2-3 suspensions per game are manageable, but not 7-8. That number has gone down and the discipline is better.” remarked Kmeč.

Slovan is already waiting for a “six-point” match on the ice of the seventh-ranked Zvolen on Sunday, which the “Whites” came close to with a difference of only one point. Oremus and Kmeč will face Zvolen for the first time since leaving HKM in the position of opposing coaches.. “We know what the table is like, for us every duel is extremely important. Maybe it will be a special match in Zvolen, but at the same time like any other. We will do everything to be successful.” added Kmeč.
