Comprehensive testing of all inhabitants of Slovakia will take place from 30 October to 1 November and then repeatedly from 6 to 8 November. The army, in cooperation with local governments, will set up 5,000 sampling points throughout the country. Testing will be free and voluntary. It is intended for residents from ten to 65 years.

In districts where pilot testing is currently underway, it is not possible to go to work or to nature without a negative test. “Outside the residence, it is only possible to go to the nearest grocery store, pharmacy, doctor or walk the dog a maximum of one hundred meters from the residence, take care of a relative or go to a funeral,” said Prime Minister Matovic.

The “reward” for having people in the affected areas tested, the permit will go to work, accompany the child to school or kindergarten, go to the post office, to the bank, visit a car service or gas station or take a trip to nature, but only in within the district.

“If people want to have freer movement, they must prove it by a PCR test or an antigen test not older than October 23,” Matovič added. In other parts of Slovakia, conditions are slightly milder.

On Friday, 2,890 people infected with covid-19 were confirmed in Slovakia and a record 25 people died. Currently, 765 people with hospitalized covid-19 are hospitalized in Slovakia, of which 66 in the ICU and 62 in lung ventilation. Slovakia has registered 40,801 infected people since the beginning of the pandemic and 159 people have died.
