“It happens in some locations that people do not want to be vaccinated, but do want to be registered as vaccinated,” said a spokeswoman for GGD GHOR Nederland. In some locations, people were given the registration card before getting the vaccination. “Once people have received the registration card, they leave the line or use an excuse, for example to go to the toilet, and run.”

It concerns a total of ‘several dozen’ reports from all over the country. “At a number of locations, people were stopped on the spot and held accountable for their behavior and working methods, and they were also asked to hand in the registration card.” The registration of the people who are caught has also been removed from the system. “People can therefore not obtain a corona certificate,” said the spokeswoman. “In addition, we draw attention to the health risk that people create for themselves and their environment if they go out or travel without vaccinations.”

The GGD has taken measures by drawing attention to the phenomenon at each location, by adjusting the queue to make running away more difficult and by only handing out the registration card after the injection. “Vaccination is of course voluntary,” she emphasizes. “We are not forcing anyone to actually get the shot. Make a well-considered choice and be very welcome at our vaccination locations if you actually want to receive a vaccination.”
