Vienna, May 12, 2020 – Representatives of four Austrian Bundesliga clubs will compete in the coming days at “Stay2Score”, the eSports format of the European Leagues, the association of the European professional leagues. They gamble against stars from top European leagues such as the Italian Serie A or the Spanish La Liga. Football fans can look forward to thrilling eSports duels on Sky Sport Austria’s digital channels from Wednesday.

Representatives from eight leagues fight for the digital crown in EA Sports FIFA 20. In addition to the four representatives of the Tipico Bundesliga, there are also eSports players & professionals from Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden.

What is special about this format: Each league is represented by four participants, two of whom are soccer professionals or celebrities and two professional esports athletes. These include well-known names such as Jorge Andrade, Vice European Champion with Portugal 2004. In the preliminary round there is a duel between all teams, each pairing consists of two games (eSportler vs. eSportler, Profi vs. Profi), the overall result counts. The top four of the preliminary round advance to the semi-finals, where they continue in knockout mode.

The two Austrian professionals who will be sent into the race are Zlatko Junuzovic from FC Red Bull Salzburg and Ione Cabrera from WSG Swarovski Tirol. The two eSportsmen are the two finalists of this year’s eBundesliga individual competition Marcel Holy from FK Austria Vienna and Philipp Gutmann from SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz.
