Škoda Octavia Combi RS failed the moose test. But it’s not her fault, the driver reported after the ride

An unfortunate 77 km/h

Spanish YouTube channel km77 subjects the cars to a demanding elk test. It then publishes the results. In the case of the Škoda Octavia, the RS model Combi appeared in the test. The tested car was a plug-in hybrid, i.e. the heaviest of the motors, but with an output of 180 kW and a torque of 400 Nm. The car was also equipped with an adaptive chassis.

The Octavia failed to pass the track at 77 km/h without hitting cones during a sharp turn. She drove cleanly at a maximum of 70 km/h. The footage shows how the car slides out of the corner due to severe understeer. Upon closer examination, however, it turned out that it was probably not a fault of the tested car.

According to the rider, the problem was mainly in bad footwear. The car arrived at the moose test with Bridgestone Turanza summer tires, which were largely responsible for its understeer. According to the km77 channel, no car with these tires managed to overcome the track at a speed of 77 km/h, the most successful attempt was 75 km/h. Watch the video:
