Taking care of the organ that defends us from germs and also has the task of regulating the fundamental body temperature for the whole organism. Foods to protect it

Not just an external cover, our most immediate aesthetic presentation card, increasingly decorated with tattoos that aim to make us unique. In fact, the skin is our largest organ that has a very specific task: to protect us from germs, bacteria and viruses, keep body temperature in balance and regulate fluids. It clearly reflects our health and lifestyle. When healthy, it performs its defensive role at its best, but when its stability is compromised, the ability of the skin to act as a barrier against external attacks is also compromised. This is why it is important to “save your skin” – underlines Ketty Peris, president of the Italian Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SIDeMaST) -: protecting it from infections, dehydration, allergies, sun damage and premature aging is important not only for looking good, but also for the well-being of the organism.
