ŠK Slovan Bratislava’s Serbian Striker Aleksandar Čavrič: Future, Form, and Contract Updates

BRATISLAVA. Recently, in connection with the Slovak champion ŠK Slovan Bratislava, the future of the Serbian striker Aleksandar Čavrič was discussed.

Apart from Andraž Šporar, Slovan hasn’t had a striker with better form than Čavrič in recent years. Last season he scored 24 goals in all competitions. If not for the injury, he could have fought for the title of the league’s best scorer.

He is currently irreplaceable for Slovan and is important for the club in the battles in the European Cup. Despite the fact that he has several offers, he remains in Slovan for now.

Management finally came up with positive news. After all-weekend negotiations with Čavrič’s representatives, an agreement was reached and Slovan’s goal was met.

“We can continue to count on the services of the best scorer of the Whites last season at least until the end of the qualifying battles in European competitions,” the club wrote. He published the news on social networks.

“The possible release of Čavrič will subsequently only be possible if we have an adequate replacement available for this position,” the club continues.

“So we have roughly 6 weeks to find a new and especially high-quality acquisition. If that doesn’t happen, the cards are still in our hands, as the contract with him will be valid for the next two seasons. So we won’t push for anything,” adds Slovan.

In the 1st preliminary round of the Champions League, the Slavs got past the Luxembourg champion FC Swift Hesper, with whom they only drew 1:1 at home, but they succeeded 2:0 at home.

They will play in the 2nd preliminary round already on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. on the ground of the Bosnian champion HŠK Zrinjski Mostar. Rematch is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1 at 8:30 p.m. in Bratislava.

Čavrič started both matches of the opening preliminary round. In the first match, he played half time, in the return he was on the pitch for 81 minutes without being recorded in the statistics.
