SK Gaming withdraws from FIFA, 1. FC Köln takes over, The StrxngeR to Effzeh – Newsticker

The Cologne esports organization “SK Gaming” has withdrawn from the FIFA discipline. This was announced by two former players of the organization on Twitter.

What this means for the cooperation between SK Gaming and 1. FC Köln was initially unclear. Neither organization had initially published an official communication on the subject.

1. FC Köln founds FIFA team

The former SK Gaming players, Tim “The StrxngeR” Katnawatos and Felix “Flexxooo” Günther, now signed directly with 1. FC Köln. “For me it was an easy decision to sign with Effzeh,” wrote Strxnger on Twitter.

Flexxooo was also happy: “1. FC Köln is forming its first own esports team for the new season and I am incredibly happy and proud to be part of it”.

SK Gaming initially only commented on the topic with a tweet. “Today we say goodbye to our competitive FIFA division,” wrote the team. “Thanks for the good times and all the exciting moments on the virtual lawn.”

Top player joins the team

The Cologne also signed another top player. Denis “Denis” Müller also wrote on Twitter: “Very proud to announce that I have signed with 1. FC Köln. Can’t wait for the new season and I’m doing my best to win as many titles as possible”.

Denis won the VBL Club Championship with 1. FC Heidenheim. In the FIFA Global Series, the player qualified for the FIFAe World Cup, which was canceled due to the corona pandemic.
