During a briefing following a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Borrell said diplomats “couldn’t agree” on new sanctions.
Borrell added that EU ambassadors have approved financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 500 million euros. Thus, the total amount of assistance from the European Union reached 2 billion euros.
The head of EU diplomacy did not give details of the talks. Most likely, the most acute issue was the introduction of the oil embargo, which is included in the sixth package of sanctions.
