Six US states pressure Activision Blizzard to make “profound changes” • Eurogamer.es

They threaten to vote against the board.

Six North American states have joined the call for changes within Activision Blizzard.

Those responsible for the treasury of the states of California, Massachusetts, Illinois, Oregon, Delaware and Nevada have requested to meet with the board of directors of the American company to discuss their response to complaints of abuse, sexual harassment, assault and inappropriate behavior in several of his studies.

In the United States, the treasury departments of each state control public investments in the stock market. In companies like Activision Blizzard, for example, investments related to state pension plans can be made.

And with Activision Blizzard’s stock price falling since the first headlines appeared in June, the reason for your concern is clear.

Michael Frerichs, the head of the Illinois Treasury, has declared to Axios that “we believe that profound changes must be made to the company”, threatening that the signatories of the application will vote against the re-election of the current members of the board of directors of Activision Blizzard.

“We are concerned that the current CEO and current board of directors do not have the skills and conviction to institute these profound changes that are needed to transform their culture, to restore trust with employees and shareholders.”

The six treasurers have set December 20 as the deadline for the Activision Blizzard board of directors to meet with them. At the moment there is no official answer.

And, meanwhile, the scandal that surrounds the company continues. Just yesterday Jessica Gonzalez, senior analyst at Blizzard and organizer of the #BetterABK movement, announced his resignation, pointing directly to Bobby Kotick for his “inaction and refusal to take responsibility” in the situation.
