The National Police have arrested six people in Elche and Alicante as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking, robbery with violence, robbery of vehicle use, illicit possession of weapons, attack on an agent of authority and membership of a criminal group.
The investigations and arrests carried out began with an alleged robbery of narcotic substances between members of different rival criminal groups. In the flight after the robbery took place, the car of those involved collided with a motorcar from the Elche cleaning service in which two of the cleaning company’s workers were slightly injured.
When the vehicle used for the flight became unusable, the investigated stole a new car to be able to escape from the area, eventually firing several shots at the scene.
The road traffic was paralyzed at that time, the perpetrators of the shots managed to flee at full speed, causing a chase in which various police forces participated, until the vehicle used in the flight was found abandoned on the A7 motorway at the height of the University of Alicante.
The same day of the events, the arrest of one of those involved and the intervention of the narcotic substance took place, the attempted removal of which was the beginning of the investigation.
Once the members of the criminal group were identified, a special police device was established that managed to locate the main address where the considered leaders of the group were hiding, who were detained when they left the aforementioned apartment, adopting strong security measures to try to flee and avoid action. Police.
At the time of arrest these people offered great resistance and aggressiveness, one of the officers who participated was slightly injured.
In a second phase of the operation, three other members of the gang were arrested, who, like the others, showed an extremely aggressive attitude.
The detainees between the ages of 23 and 39 have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of the Guard in Elche and Alicante today.
