Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/22/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 17,502 analyzes were carried out today and 2,098 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,098 new cases, 892 are from Montevideo, 316 from Canelones, 107 from Maldonado, 103 from Paysandú, 97 from Salto, 78 from Florida, 77 from Colonia, 74 from Artigas, 63 from Rocha, 51 from Soriano, 49 from San José, 41 from Tacuarembó, 29 from Cerro Largo, 29 from Río Negro, 24 from Durazno, 22 from Lavalleja, 20 from Rivera, 20 from Treinta y Tres and 6 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,693,798 tests have been processed and 358,461 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 329,662 have already been recovered.

Today 34 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far, there are 5,350 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 23,449 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 364 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 8,441 correspond to health personnel. 8,152 of them have already recovered, 261 are suffering from the disease and 28 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 356,382. Today 2,098 new cases and a total of 358,461 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 19 cases were eliminated.
