Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (06/05/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 32,319 analyzes were carried out and 4,228 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 4,228 new cases, 1,934 are from Montevideo, 546 from Canelones, 305 from Paysandú, 227 from Salto, 193 from Maldonado, 154 from Tacuarembó, 130 from San José, 129 from Artigas, 103 from Soriano, 100 from Colonia, 71 from Rocha, 56 from Río Negro, 52 from Cerro Largo, 46 ​​from Lavalleja, 44 from Durazno, 41 from Florida, 37 from Rivera, 33 from Flores and 27 from Treinta y Tres.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 2,383,181 tests have been processed and 312,703 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 271,481 have already recovered.

Today 67 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far there are 4,583 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 36,639 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 517 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total of confirmed positive cases, 7,965 correspond to health personnel. 7,571 of them have already recovered, 371 are suffering from the disease and 23 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

• The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 308,490. Today 4,228 new cases and a total of 312,703 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 15 cases were eliminated.
