Ewbank first expresses its support to all ‘The Voice’ candidates, employees of the program and the women who have been victims of sexual abuse by “men of a certain position”. Then she shares her own experience.

“After hearing the first headlines last week, I immediately had the right suspicion about who it should or could be,” writes 34-year-old Ewbank, who participated in the talent show in 2010. According to her, there have been two situations in which ‘inappropriate acts’ have been done towards her as a woman during her participation. “I confronted the person in question directly about this both times and it did not haunt me any further. This did take place in the presence of others in the workplace, of whom I find it very bad how the environment reacted to it, by laughing about it. Apparently his behavior was approved,” she writes.

Ewbank did share the incidents with the people around her at the time, but she says: “It was not enough for me to report it.” Still, she wants to tell her story. “This is something I recognize in other people’s posts and that’s why I want to share this message.”

The singer calls it “outrageous and incomprehensible that this apparently goes back more than eleven years”. She continues: “Now that it appears that it is about structural action and not just an incident, I can only be disgusted by what has happened here and I feel that I cannot keep it quiet and that I have to stand up in this situation. That is why I have already reported these incidents.”

Ewbank deliberately did not respond to calls and messages from the media. “It is therefore not my intention to go into further detail about this in the media,” she says. “To everyone who has been involved in any form, I wish you all the best,” she concluded.
