Sinfonietta Rīga invites to chamber music evenings in Dzintari Concert Hall / Day

The first concert evening of the cycle, which will gather in the Small Hall of Dzintari Concert Hall on Friday, August 21, has been given a subtitle. Stravinsky, Adams, Prokofiev.

The concert will feature Igor Stravinsky’s Octet of Wind Instruments, performed by flutist Ilona Meija, clarinetist Mārtiņš Circenis, bassoonists Jānis Semjonovs and Elza Ozola, trumpet players Jenss Emīls Holms and Edgars Švembergs, as well as trombonists Lauris Bērvejnieks and Lauris Zvejnieks. At the conductor’s desk – Jānis Stafeckis.

Sergey Prokofiev’s quintet will be performed by violinist Agnese Kanniņa, viola player Ivars Brīnums, double bassist Viktors Stankevičs, oboist Pēteris Endzelis and clarinetist Mārtiņš Circenis.

This time John Adams opus Shaker Loops will be able to hear the rare arrangement of string instruments for the septet. Violinists Marta Spārniņa, Anti Kortelainens, Kristiāna Krūskopa, viola player Ineta Abakuka, cellists Madara Norbūte and Dārta Svētiņa, double bassist Jānis Stafeckis will take part in the performance. At the conductor’s desk – Normunds Šnē.

The concert will continue with compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Claude Debussy. Mozart’s First Flute Quartet will feature flutist Ilona Meija, violinist Madara Gaile, violinist Ivars Brīnums and cellist Māra Botmane. In turn, Debussy, inspired by the poem of Paul Verlene Small Suite which was originally created by the author for four – handed piano performance and which later won a successful orchestrated orchestra by the concert hall audience, will be heard in the arrangement of wind quintet. Flutist Ieva Pudāne, oboist Pēteris Endzelis, clarinetist Mārtiņš Circenis, bassoonist Jānis Semjonovs and forest ranger Artūrs Šults will take part in the performance.
