“The best location to observe is in eastern Indonesia,” said Lapan.

According to Lapan, GBT which coincides with Waisak Day has occurred several times in the last century, namely on May 24, 1990, May 14, 1938, May 14, 1957, May 25, 1975, and May 16, 2003.

Lapan said that a similar phenomenon would occur again on May 26, 2040, May 7, 2050, May 6, 2069, May 17, 2087, and May 29, 2106.

Meanwhile, the phenomenon of the Super Red Moon that coincides with Vesak Day has occurred four times in the 19th century, namely on May 10, 1808, May 21, 1826, June 1, 1844, and May 21, 1845.
