Referee Maurizio Mariani disallowed a goal AC Milanwhen defeated Inter Milan. Coach Nerazzurri, Simone Inzaghipraised the referee.
Derby della Madonnina in the semifinals Italian Cup brought the conversation, when Milan’s goal against Inter was disallowed. In that match, Inter won 3-0 over their rivals.
After trailing 0-2 in the first half of the match at the Giuseppe Meazza, Wednesday (20/4/2022) early morning WIB, Milan tried to get up in the second half. The goal was then obtained through Ismael Bennacer in the 66th minute.
Inter players had raised their hands a sign of violations occurred earlier. Inter players assess Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, had handball before the goal was created.
Referee Maurizio Mariani then reviewed the VAR, and decided to annull the goal. However, the 40-year-old referee had another reason, namely judging that there were already Milan players offside before the goal was created.

The decision was criticized by coach Stefani Pioli for wasting the momentum of Milan’s revival. Responding to the controversy, Inzaghi also opened his voice.
Coach Inter Milan it actually praised the referee Maurizio Mariani as one of the best. Simone Inzaghi also considered, the wrong decision of the referee is understandable.
“We are lucky because we have the best referee in the world,” said Inzaghi, as reported by Football-Italy.
“Of course, they can make mistakes, like the rest of us, but, I think there is a balance between favorable and unfavorable incidents at the end of the season,” he said.
Inter Milan himself advanced to the Coppa Italia final, and will fight Juventuswhich previously got rid of Fioretina. The final party will be held at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome, 11 May.
