According to international media, the Brazilian consulate in Paris has confirmed that 44-year-old Simone Barreto Silva is one of the victims of the attack on the Notre-Dame basilica in Nice.
“She crossed the street, covered in blood. My brother and one of our employees received her and placed her inside. They didn’t understand at first. She said there was an armed man in the church, ”said Brahim Jelloule, owner of the restaurant Silva walked into after fleeing the basilica.
Half an hour later the woman died. “Tell my children that I love them,” she said to the relief workers. Silva was a 44-year-old woman from Brazil. She is the mother of three children and has lived in France for at least 30 years. Silva was a cook, but nowadays worked as a nurse. According to RFI, she also had French nationality.
