Simon Cowell is recovering from six-hour surgery after breaking his back in a cycling accident on Saturday afternoon. On Instagram and Twitter he thanks the hospital staff.
He calls the nurses and doctors “some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.” He also shares advice on the use of an electric bicycle. “Good advice: if you buy an electric bike, read the manual before riding it for the first time,” Cowell writes.
The record boss and jury member of America’s Got Talent was taking a test ride on his new electric bike on Saturday afternoon when he crashed unhappily. The accident took place on the patio of his house in Malibu, in front of his children. According to a spokesman, he broke his back in several places.
According to Deadline Cowell will be recording the first two live shows of the new season from America’s Got Talendon’t miss it. His fellow judge Sofia Vergara posted a photo to Instagram where she and the other judges point to an empty seat during the show’s rehearsals. “We miss our boss!” she adds.
