The health authorities warned on Sunday evening the participants in a festive evening which brought together several hundred people in the Marne on the night of Saturday to Sunday after noting the non-respect of barrier gestures. On the spot, the gendarmerie noted that the barrier measures were not respected by the participants “, from several cities in France but also from Belgium or the Netherlands, said the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Grand-Est in a joint statement with the Marne prefecture.
“According to the organizers, this festive gathering” organized by the Guyanese community “was initially supposed to bring together around a hundred people. But the actual number of participants is estimated at several hundred, the information having been actively relayed via social networks”, explains the ARS, citing a “high health risk”.
The gendarmes noted “the lack of respect for barrier gestures, and in particular the wearing of a mask when the physical distance (1 meter) could not be respected”.
“The people likely to have been in contact with the virus are the participants, the musicians, the taxi drivers solicited”, she adds.
The ARS estimates that the risk is all the higher because of the age of the participants, mostly aged 20 to 40, while the latest epidemiological point disseminated by Public Health France shows a 45% increase in positive cases. during the last week of July among 15 – 44 year olds.
“However, people between 20 and 40 years of age are contaminated for the most part without symptoms or with mild symptoms. The health risk is thus particularly high”, notes the health authority, which in particular urged participants to be screened and to wear a mask “systematically” for 14 days “in the presence of a person”.
A message was also sent “to each participant on the risks incurred and the action to be taken”.
