There will be four stages of the World Cup in November and December, in which the Beijing Games must be qualified for the distance with a joint start.

“This is the main task that needs to be done right now. Then we will be able to prepare for the Olympics,” Silov said on television.

Silov is preparing for the season in the Bavarian town of Incelle, where there is a speed skating circle, currently focusing on skating. The injury that the athlete had in February and March has affected the training process, as there is not much time, but with overcoming the injury, its lack has become even more noticeable to prepare well for the Olympic year.

“I don’t feel as strong right now as I did in the 2018 Pyongyang Olympics, given the start of the season and the injury,” says the athlete, adding that not only does this distance depend on physical ability, but also on success and tactical combat.

Silov is currently training with Swiss speed skaters, whose training approach differs from that of the Dutch. However, the Swiss focus on the distance with a common start. Therefore, working with the Swiss leader in this discipline Livio Venger, who ranked fourth in the 2018 Games in South Korea, is important for achieving competitiveness.

The first four stages of the World Cup will take place from 12 to 14 November in the Polish city of Tomaszow in Lesser Poland, from 19 to 21 November in Stavanger, Norway, from 3 to 5 December in the US Oval in Salt Lake City and from 10 to 12 December in Canada. Calgary.

Silov has already participated in three Olympic Games, becoming the first athlete in the world in Vancouver in 2010, who in one day participated in both short track and speed skating competitions.

The best achievement in the Olympic Games in short track is the tenth place won in 1500 meters in 2010, but in speed skating – the fourth place in the 2018 Games in the distance of 1500 meters.
