Laurent Nunez, new police chief of Paris, spoke this Friday evening for the first time in his new role.
“As every year, the presence of police personnel is increased on the public highway and on the eight emblematic sites of the capital”, highlights Laurent Nunez, the new prefect of police of Paris, during his first speech this Friday evening, at the microphone of BFMTV.
Reinforced security in the summer
In the middle of the high tourist season, the police force is reinforced in Paris and in particular in eight essential places in the capital.
“Both to deter perpetrators of offenses but also street vendors, charity scams, pick-pocketing, thefts with violence. The staff are there to prevent this type of offense and when they are committed, to challenge the perpetrators”, explains Laurent Nunez.
The new Paris police chief, who has just replaced Didier Lallement, was in front of the Louvre carousel to talk about security.
