When it comes to Norwegian football feats in Europe, one is happy to highlight Rosenborg’s 3-0 win away against Borussia Dortmund, their home win, 2-0 against Real Madrid, or the 2-1 win away against Milan.
The great football achievements are many, and now Bodø / Glimt will also have a say in the team when talking about the great Norwegian football achievements in Europe.
The egg recognizes itself
– There is only one thing to say: A fantastic performance by Bodø / Glimt. And Norwegian football. Such a result will raise the reputation of Norwegian football. We need that, and we are happy about that, says Nils Arne Eggen, who was coach for Rosenborg during their heyday.
José Mourinho has 1008 games under his belt as a coach, but has never before conceded six goals. Before he met Bodø / Glimt. And Eggen recognizes what he sees from Bodø / Glimt from what he saw from his own Rosenborg.
– All coaches must learn from this. All movements in Bodø / Glimt can take precedence over the next situation. It is a pattern, a movement triggers a new movement, and then you have come a long way, says Eggen.
– Not entirely different from RBK under you?
– It’s recognizable. I chuckle over it, Eggen answers.
When asked how he will rank Glimt’s performance against Rosenborg under his leadership, the RBK legend answers:
– They are well on their way. But you know that there are two different generations, and RBK’s achievements came at the end of the 80s, 90s and the beginning of the 2000s. Today it is Glimt’s achievement that there is every possible reason to rejoice over, for a quarter of a football heart. They trigger a game pattern that works, says Eggen.
– Great for Norwegian football
The Rosenborg legends who played under Eggen can also be impressed by what the yellow-clad showed at Aspmyra.
