Shots were fired this afternoon on Marco Polostraat in Oud-West. There is a lot of police presence in the street, including the SWAT team. According to witnesses AT5 spoke to, several shots were fired in the street, including a bullet hole in a taxi. A few minutes later, the police also received a report of a shooting on Willy Sluiterstraat, in the Overtoomseveld. An injured man was found there.
The report of the shooting on Marco Polostraat came in at 12:48 p.m. Five minutes later, and almost a kilometer away, the shooting report came in on Willy Sluiterstraat. Images from Marco Polostraat show that the police arrest team is present in the street.
A police spokesperson cannot yet say much about the reports. “According to a reporter, bangs were heard near Marco Polostraat, but not much is clear about it yet.” A witness tells AT5 that several shots were fired. Images show that a taxi car was hit.
During the shooting report on Willy Sluiterstraat, a victim was found with an injury to his leg, but the police could not yet say whether this was a gunshot wound. The victim has been taken to hospital.
