Shooting new Netflix series by Rowan Atkinson started | TV

TVIt was quiet for a long time around Rowan Atkinson (66), but the ‘Mr. Bean’ actor has apparently not been sitting still. These days Rowan is on the set of ‘Man vs Bee’, a series he is making for Netflix.

‘Man vs Bee’ consists of ten short episodes in which the actor plays a character who fits in a luxury villa, and is harassed by a persistent bee.

The shooting of the ‘psychic comedy’ started last week in the British town of Aylesbury. It is not yet known when the series will be shown.

At the beginning of this year, the actor indicated that he wants to stop with ‘Mr. bean. “I don’t get any pleasure out of it anymore,” he told Radio Times at the time. “I don’t like the responsibility I carry. It stresses me out, makes me tired and I look forward to not having to do this again.” The actor does state that there are already “advanced plans” to make another animated film about Mr. bean.

A fifth season of ‘Blackadder’, on the other hand, does not rule out Atkinson. “The series really shows the creative energy we had in the eighties,” it sounds. “It wouldn’t be easy to show that again more than thirty years later. But I don’t think it’s impossible. I couldn’t be more optimistic.”
