NEW YORK – A shooting in Queens claimed the lives of two people on Friday, authorities announced.
According to the police officer, four people, two men, a woman and a minor, were traveling in a vehicle on Rockaway Boulevard on Friday afternoon when the passenger heard a gunshot. At that time, the report says, two men who were sitting in the front of the car, the driver and the other passenger, were hit by the bullets.
Following the shooting, the vehicle crashed into the John F. Kennedy airport fence, police said.
The two victims, the 26-year-old driver and the passenger, were transported to Jamaica Hospital where their deaths were declared, the report says.
The 28-year-old woman and the 4-year-old minor were not injured.
It is still unknown whether they were the target of the shooting or innocent victims of a crossfire.
