Van der Nat appreciates the developer’s gesture, but honestly says that he cannot do much with it. ‘They really tried to force a solution, but we feel that the shipyard is not open to a solution at all.’ The shipyard itself is still in talks with the municipality about a new environmental permit for the shed that burned down last year. “We are just pawns on their chessboard and all they want is to stretch the process. This will take at least another two to two and a half years. So with those few months of suspension we won’t get anywhere.’
