Luxury cars Mustang Shelby burned in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, this afternoon. The sports car is known to have just come out of the workshop.
Danru Damkar Sector I Kebayoran Lama Rustiawan said that initially the car driven by a man named Darori had just finished undergoing maintenance from a repair shop. Not long after the repairs passed, sparks then appeared from the hood of the car.
“How many kilometers is it from the workshop and then he’s on his way home. Suddenly there is a short circuit and-“ burn. The fire started from the front engine, from the front stamp,” said Rustiawan when contacted detik.com, Monday (26/7/2021).
Darori himself is known to only be a driver. The owner of the Mustang vehicle has not yet been disclosed by officers.
According to Rustiawan, when the sparks came out of the front of the car, Darori managed to escape immediately. Casualties were also avoided.
The fire department received information about the car fire at around 17:10 WIB. It didn’t take long to extinguish the fire in the luxury car.
“I received the news at 17.10 WIB. We need 25 minutes to cool down,” he said.
Currently the burning car has been evacuated to the Kebayoran Lama Police. Officials predict the fire was caused by an electrical short.
“(The cause) was initially an electric short circuit,” concluded Rustiawan.
