Sheffield United became the first team to be relegated from Premier League this season. It was confirmed after Sheffield lost to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Sheffield lost 0-1 when they travel to Wolverhampton at Molineux on Sunday (18/4/2021) early morning hrs in continued Premier League. The only goal in the match was created by Willian Jose in the 59th minute.
The defeat was enough to ensure that Sheffield would not stay on Premier League. Having just collected 14 points from 32 matches, The Blades will not be able to catch up to Burnley, who is currently in 17th position, aka the safe limit.
Sheffield can only add a maximum of 18 points if they are able to wipe out the remaining six games. That will get them to a maximum of 32 points, which is still one point behind Burnley if they lose all of their remaining matches.
In terms of performance, Sheffield United this season was disappointing. They have just won four wins so far and have lost 26.
Even though last season they reaped great praise. In his first season after promotion, Sheffield finished in ninth position and became one of the most attractive teams in the league.
They matched Chelsea 2-2 at Stamford Bridge, then won 3-0 at Bramall Lane. Two other London teams, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, were also victims.
Sheffield draw and one win from each of these clubs. Meanwhile, MU also had time to feel tough match against Sheffield, when held to a 3-3 draw at Bramall Lane.
