Buckingham Palace said on Saturday that the British princess Beatrice put the same crown as her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, at her wedding on Friday, revealing more details about the surprising private ceremony held in a narrow frame due to the pandemic of the Corona virus.

Princess Beatrice, 31, married Eduardo Mabele Motsi on Friday at Windsor Castle, at a ceremony marked by little pomp and usual dazzling, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, the Duchess of York.

The couple originally planned to marry in May, but public isolation measures due to the outbreak of the Coruna virus forced them to postpone it and hold a simple party.

The 94-year-old Queen and her 99-year-old husband, Philip, were among the few who attended the party.

Since July 4, England has allowed the wedding ceremony to be held, with no more than 30 attendees.

“The couple decided to hold a small private ceremony with their parents and siblings after their wedding was postponed in May,” the palace said in a statement.

British media described the event as a “secret” wedding.

Buckingham Palace said that Princess Beatrice, the ninth in the throne arrangement, wore an ivory dress designed by Norman Hartnell and the crown of Queen Mary Diamond.

Queen Elizabeth lent the dress and the crown to the princess to place it on this occasion.

Queen Elizabeth wore the same crown when she married Prince Philip in 1947. The crown was made in 1919 and is one of the diamond necklace given to Queen Victoria for her wedding.
