- FOLK is a new podcast series from Aftenposten. In the series, you meet ordinary people who have experienced strong turning points. Here is Anniken’s story:
“I cut my hair, I stole my brother’s trousers, I started a slow transformation. I heard stories from others who said they were “born in the wrong body” and knew me very well.
From Rikshospitalet, I was given the impression that a process of changing gender would then take three years. I did not have time for that!
An acquaintance of an acquaintance was helpful in obtaining testosterone, which I started taking regularly. I started to like my body. I was drawn further and further into the world I had plunged into. I threw myself for attention. “I was good, I was the best.”
Then everything changed – again. “
