Three-time Olympic champion in figure skating, now State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina answered the loud words of the honored trainer of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova in her address.
On the eve of Tarasova, she said that Rodnina sent ex-skater Elena Cherkasskaya to compete in Australia when she had a fourth-degree cancer in which she could not even drink water.
“I would advise Tatyana Anatolyevna to hit a little bit in history. If there is that moment, then this is 1981. And Cherkasskaya died of cancer in 2000 (in fact, November 12, 2001. – Sport24). Do these words hurt me? It is not my job to comment on the words of Tarasova. Something needs to be argued. God will judge her, for a long time something has flown from Tarasova’s brain. And it’s dirty to talk about a person who is no longer there, ”said Rodnina in an interview with Sport24 correspondent Vladislav Flegontov.
