Exhausted from their four-day search, the couple begs anyone who thinks they may have seen anything to report to the police. “The worst thing is that we can’t do anything anymore, we are no longer in control. We sit and watch the dunes and hope she comes running down into our arms,” says the inconsolable mother. “Someone needs to know where she is, it’s been four days now.”
“If you’ve seen something, it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, please report it. We want our little girl to come back home. We’ll find her, we have to.” Smith says he’s “terrified” and hopes that some other mothers have to go through the same thing as her. Ellie describes her missing daughter as “beautiful, delicate and funny” and with “the biggest heart”.
